April showers bring May flowers...May showers bring slugs

Have already ridden 200+ miles this week in the rain so plan to ride indoors out of the rain today in front of the tube with a little Judge Judy. Would hate to be taken out on a turn by a slug.

Getting blog out there

I'm having a hell of a time figuring out how followers (the wonderful people who have already donated to World Vision) can access this from the internet. I will continue to work on it and hope to use this blog to communicate with others during this summers ride. The training is still on track. I have over 3700 miles in since January and everything feels pretty good. This next week will be my last 250 mile week and then I will start to taper off to be fresh for the start of the ride on the 20th of June.

Across America One Mile at a Time

This summer I have been blessed with the opportunity (no brain-no pain) to participate in a wonderful journey by bicycle across these great United States. Since January 1st I have ridden over 3400 miles in training for the ride. Starting from Astoria, Oregon I will cycle through Oregon, Idaho, Wyoming, South Dakota, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Ontario, New York, Vermont and New Hampshire. Without any creative route finding (getting lost) I will put in a minimum of 3,629 miles to complete the ride.

I will pay for all my expenses along the way. In so doing I also hope to raise funds for World Vision an organization striving to build a better world for children and their communities worldwide. Please visit my webpage at www.firstgiving.com/kimabb to learn more and/or to donate. Donating through this website is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to support my fundraising efforts for World Vision.
