Day 20: Casper Wy to Lusk, WY - 106 miles with 2,660' of climbing

Today, following breakfast at the hotel, we started the ride out of Casper past oil and gas refineries and the Haliburton plant (just a few miles from the Dick Cheney Federal Building.) Strange coincidence how Haliburton got all those no-bid federal contracts for the war in Afghanistan but I digress.

The rest of the day took us past herds of pronghorn antelope, rolling hills, 15 miles of interstate highway and very few towns once again. We arrived in Lusk with plenty of time to shower, relax and take in the small town feel of Lusk, Wyoming. Having witnessed their Legends of Rawhide parade this afternoon I can now cross that off my bucket list. I think the parade had more livestock than people which made it fun but the candy tossed from parade floats was hard for the kids to find amongst the horse and cattle poop.

Roadkill tally: 149
Flats: 1 rear
Hurts: Life is good
